4.AVIFAUNA OF PATAN DISTRICT AND ITS NEIGHBOURHOOD BY K.B.PATEL
Abstract
The Patan district has been famous since medieval times. The district has
historical significance. Study was conducted during 2004 to 2008 and observed 96
genera of birds representing 42 families and 141 species in the district.
Observations on bird species were recorded at two locations in each taluka.
Identification of different species of birds was carried out by noting down the
various characters and with the help of key notes from the standard book (Ali
Salim, 1979).
