Keywords:
Key words: Gulf of Kachchh, Mangroves, water qualityAbstract
Mangroves are the most sensitive and diverse ecosystem. This research study comprises of comparative assessment of water quality at three different intertidal region in Gulf of Kuchchh region. This study will help in understanding the quality of water in mangrove ecosystem especially in close vicinity of Marine National Park area and its impact and interaction with other marine fauna, flora and abiotic components. Water sample were collected from three different intertidal sites. Major parameters like pH, temperature, BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, Phosphate, Sulphate and Nitrates were monitored. Present study result shows that water near mangrove area from intertidal zone is highly enriched with nutrients and of good quality as compared to other coastal areas.
