On 12 July 2013 we spotted Greater Coucal at near old veterinary college, Acharya N.G Ranga Agricultural University, Rajenderanagar, Hyderabad 17.325968° N and 78.408926°E (Plate. 1) in the afternoon (14:27 hrs between 14:45 hrs) it was raining. Initially seen a young Common Myna perching on shrub (Latana camera) attacked and severely injured on neck region by Greater Coucal (Fig 1). After about 10 minutes it felt we were less of a threat and slowly Greater Coucal taken to Myna up the tree to feed. Had great to observe the movements on feeding guild of this bird (Fig 2A and 2B).
