6.GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN VIGNA RADIATA (L.)WILCZEK By J.N.PATEL AND N.K.PATEL
Abstract
Forty mungbean (Vigna radiata(L.) Wilczek) genotypes were grouped in to eleven clusters based on their
genetic diversity. Genetic diversity was found to be unrelated to geographical diversity. The maximum
inter cluster distance was observed between cluster III and IX, II and IX, III and VII, III and VI indicating
wide divergence among these clusters. Iron content had maximum contribution to the total divergence
followed by phosphorous content, harvest index and seed yield per plant.
