2.MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION AND POLYMORPHISM BASED ON RAPD PRIMERS AMONG DIFFERENT GENOTYPES OF CASTOR (RICINUS COMMUNIS L.) By NILESH BHOJANI_ K. A. PATEL V.P CHOVATIYA
Abstract
Castor belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae with chromosome number 2n = 20. The Present investigation
is to find out Polymorphic Molecular marker in 10 genotypes of Castor. DNA was extracted from the
juvenile leaves of the 10 genotypes of castor by CTAB method. The quality and quantity of DNA was
ascertained on Nanodrop was used for RAPD analysis. Used ten primers viz.; OPA-09, OPA-02, OPA-08,
OPA-07, OPC-02, OPC-03, OPC-04, OPL-18, OPL-08, OPL-13. The ten DNA sample were amplified
with these primers. Out of ten primers, two primers viz.; OPA-07 and OPA-08 gave a distinct, polymorphic
and reproducible pattern of the amplified PCR fragments.
