An Estimation Of Primary and Secondary Metabolites In Cucurbitaceae Family

Abstract:
Cucurbitaceae family are the second largest family of fruits and vegetables after Solanaceae and its members are eaten in worldwide. Cucurbitaceae family belongs to class Magnoliopsida, sub-class Rosidae and order cucurbitales. Cucurbitaceae family contains approximately 115 genus and 960 species are herbaceous annual vines or perennial lianas and tendrils. The family are classified into two major subfamilies: Cucurbitoideae and Zanonioideae, according to their morphological , cytological, and floral characters. It have nutrients for human health, including sugar, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Cucurbitaceae family consists several phytochemicals such as Tannins, Cardiac glycosides, Terpenoids, Carbohydrates, Resins, Saponins, Carotenoids, and Phytosterols etc. The present review emphasis on 20 plants of Cucurbitaceae family. The plants are mentioned with which plants parts are used by using of various solvents with their presence of phytochemicals.
