STUDY OF SPIDER WEBS IN SATLASANA TALUKA, GUJARAT, INDIA

The study of spider webs was conducted from 2016 to 2018 using hand picking method. A total of 19 species belonging to 17 genera and 9 families were identified as web builders. Out of a total six types of webs were observed and identified using relevant literature. Family Araneidae was dominantly distributed in all habitats in the study area. Spiders were web-building for capturing prey, defences, egg laying, and staying.
