A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON RARE AND THREATENED PLANT SPECIES IN TARANGA HILLS OF MEHSANA DISTRICT, GUAJRAT
Keywords:
Mehsana, Taranga Hills, Threatened, Rare, PlantsAbstract
Plant species classified as Rare, Endangered, and Threatened (RET) are those with small populations, very specific habitat needs, or restricted geographic distribution ranges. The Taranga hills, where RET plant species are believed to exist, were the site of the survey. The pressure of these species disappearing is one of the most important concerns facing the scientific and social communities because of the increase in population in this region. Nine plant species are rare, two are critically endangered, one is near threatened, one is vulnerable, and two are the least conceren in this exploratory study that was conducted to observe the rare and threatened plant species in Taranga hills.
