A FOCUS ON PHYSICO-CHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF WASTEWATER DISCHARGED FROM TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Keywords:
Physico-chemical, Industrial wastewater, COD, BOD, pHAbstract
Water is often contaminated with harmful chemicals due to human activities such as population growth, industry, fertilizer usage, and industrialization. One of the leading causes of environmental damage is the release of industrial waste into water sources. This hurts aquatic life, soil microorganisms, and drinking water quality. Using contaminated water can lead to water-borne diseases in the human population, so it is crucial to test the quality of drinking water regularly. Access to clean water is essential for avoiding infections and improving quality of life. The physicochemical parameters—color, temperature, acidity, hardness, pH, sulfate, chloride, dissolved oxygen, chemical and biological oxygen demands, and alkalinity—that are used to evaluate water quality must be understood. Water analysis reports containing physicochemical parameters have been provided for study and comparison. It is essential to compare the values of actual water samples with established guidelines for these physicochemical properties.
