6. ETHNOBOTANICAL STUDIES OF THE PLANTS USED BY BHILALA TRIBE OF TWO VILLAGES OF DHAR DISTRICT OF MADHYA PRADESH (INDIA) by ALKESH MUWEL, ARUN KHER AND KAMLA SHIVANI
Abstract
The present paper focuses on the preliminary ethnobotanical survey in two villages i.e. Dhanora and Bhamlawad of Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh India. Survey was conducted from 5th June 2016 to 1st September 2016 by performing interviews with 16 senior native citizens who provided information about the uses of medicinal plants during survey of the studied area. During the investigations we listed38plants species belonging to 36 genera and 23 families which are being used in various diseases in human being& cattle. Nearly 19 different types of diseases are being treated by the tribe using wild plants. Most of the treatments are suggested for human ailments (18) and one (diarrhoea in cattle) for animal’s disease. Various types of pains, snake bite, scorpion bites, stone excess bleeding in menstrual cycle typhoids are some of the important diseases which are treated by the local tribals.
