THE VEGETATION OF LEGUMES OF INDIA ALONG WITH GUJARAT AND DADRA AND NAGAR HAVELI AND ETHNO-MEDICINAL USES OF LEGUMES: A REVIEW

India has a wide biodiversity of the vegetation. Our country is known for the traditional study of flora and diversity. The study of the foliage diversity of India also helps in the biodiversity conservation. Ayurveda, a traditional Indian medicine, relies so fast on the varied flora and medicinal plants species found throughout the Country. The legumes are also very important as food and fodder. The vegetation of India has also many ethnomedicinal use in the Indian Ayurveda. The use of the plants as medicine plays very significant role for health and wealth. The Leguminosae family plant species are diverse in the Gujarat state and U.T. of Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH). The legumes are widely distributed all over the district. Tribes of DNH are mainly dependent on forest for basic necessities like food, fodder, medicine, etc.
