Abstract
Ethno- Medico botanical survey on Underground plant parts used in the treatment of different
diseases in Chittoor district was conducted. They are used in the form of juice, decoction, paste,
infusion and powder. The medicinal plants are employed in many diseases. The investigation
revealed that 17 plant species belonging of 12 families and 15 genera are commonly used in the
treatment of piles, poisonous bites, skin diseases, for increasing breast milk, diarrhea, Asthma,
Frequent fevers, jaundice, dyspepsia, dysentery sexual problems and stomach ache.
