STUDIES ON SYNTHESIS OF BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE PYRAZOLINE DERIVATIVES
Title compounds 2-pyrazoline have been prepared by reaction of 1-(3-bromo-5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(substitutedphenylprop-2-en-1-one (1a-i) which on treatment with hydrazineÂ Â to give 1-[3-(3-bromo-5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]ethanone (2 a-i).
The structural assignment of the compounds was based on elements analysis and IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral data. All the synthesized compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activity to gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains and antifungal activity. The antimicrobial activities of the synthesized compounds have been compared with standard drugs like Amoxycillin, Ciprofloxecine and Griseofulvin. Purity of synthesized compounds have been checked by TLC.
